The parcel delivery company Yodel has captured a gold achievement award from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA), demonstrating the recognition that may be given to companies with effective safety signage.

It has implemented a number of measures that have helped to decrease the company's three-day injuries by more than 41 per cent in a year. These practices include extensive risk assessment, regular training and close liaison with health and safety officials.

David Rawlins, RoSPA's awards manager, said: "RoSPA firmly believes that organisations that have demonstrated their commitment to continuous improvement in accident and ill health prevention deserve recognition."

Mr Rawlins also noted that Yodel has demonstrated that it strives for continuous improvement in its health and safety work.

HR Magazine has reported that the British Safety Council (BSC) has consulted with Ragnar Lofstedt as part of his evaluation of health and safety regulations.

Mr Loftsedt is a King's College London professor and was given evidence from 8,000 members of the BSC. ADNFCR-2754-ID-800632346-ADNFCR
