Tourist signs that direct visitors to a Wraxall zoo have been vandalised.

The brown signs situated on B3128 Clevedon Road have been sprayed with black paint, making them difficult for drivers to see, according to local Bristol newspaper The Post.

However, directions to Tyntesfield were unharmed, with bosses at the zoo farm deciding to contact both the local council and the police.

Speaking to the news provider, a representative from the site said: "We are not sure who is responsible for the vandalism.

"North Somerset Council and the police have been informed and both are taking the matter seriously and the council are taking steps to clean the damaged signs as soon as possible."

Vandalism has also hit signage in Warton, Lancashire, with the Blackpool Gazette reporting that graffiti has been sprayed on new 20mph signs that were introduced to Church Road in the area.

Several of the warning signs were changed to read 30mph, whereas others falsely indicated an 80mph limit.ADNFCR-2754-ID-801427265-ADNFCR
