Numerous Aberystwyth streets require new warning signs to prevent motorists from speeding.

This is the view of town councillors in the area, who are set to write to Ceredigion Council in an effort to urge them to install flashing signs on Boulevard St Brieuc, Llanbadarn Road and Trefechan, according to Cambrian News.

Deputy mayor Sam Hearne told the newspaper: "I would like to write to Ceredigion County Council to look into putting a school speed reduction 20mph flashing lights system on Boulevard St Brieuc, as I feel there is a need for this as a lot of children and parents walk from all over to go to Plascrug or Ysgol Gymraeg."

Ms Hearne noted that a 10-year-old was knocked over on a pelican crossing on Boulevard St Brieuc, underlining the importance for drivers to be made more aware of their speed.

Elsewhere, the Linlithgow Gazette has reported that the work of a schoolgirl has led to new safety signs being installed in Bo'Ness.ADNFCR-2754-ID-801233310-ADNFCR
