Tuxford & Tebbutt wins health and safety accolade

Stilton cheese specialist Tuxford & Tebbutt has been handed an award after it achieved exceptionally high standards in health and safety.
Ahead of collecting the accolade, the firm was working with the British Safety Council and it has now won the prestigious ISO18001 status alongside a five star accreditation, which is the highest level of award available for improving safety measures, reports the Melton Times.
Chris Masters, Tuxford & Tebbutt’s health and safety coordinator, said: "We embarked on an extensive campaign to improve our health and safety practices and systems during 2011, involving all staff across our site."
Mr Masters described the accreditation as an award for the hard work and commitment of workers at the firm.
It is also not the only firm to have collected a health and safety award in recent weeks, with H&V News reporting that Sollatek UK has been handed SAFEcontractor status.
Maan Allos, director of the company, said that the accolade demonstrates its commitment to maintaining excellence.
