Staff health crucial to employee morale

A survey of UK employees has revealed that the majority do not feel like their boss or the company they work for cares about their health and well-being. This in turn is having a serious effect on employee morale.

In total, 54 per cent of UK workers said they believed their employer didn't care about their health as long as they were able to do their job, according to the survey conducted by Investors in People.

Out of those who held this opinion, 48 per cent said it made them feel less motivated and around a third said that they were looking for a new job as a result. Around 13 per cent said their employer's uncaring nature caused them to not work as hard, while 15 per cent said they resent their employer.

This shows how important it is for employers to make it clear they care about the health and wellbeing of their workers. This can be achieved by making it clear when installing safety equipment, such as warning signs, that this is being done out of concern for employee health.ADNFCR-2754-ID-801695609-ADNFCR
