Construction specialist Southdale is set to be presented with the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents' gold award at a ceremony in Birmingham this May.

The honour recognises the firm's commitment to health and safety management, with the company's health and safety manager Matthew Bostwick telling the Huddersfield Daily Examiner that it is "fantastic" to have the staff's work recognised.

"We will continue to strive towards improving our health and safety protocols to ensure we are consistently raising the bar for ensuring first class health and safety provision for all our stakeholder groups," Mr Bostwick explained.

The firm's work with industry specialists, suppliers, sub-contractors and clients will be recognised.

FoodManufacture.co.uk reported that Bakkavor was also recently given a gold award from RoSPA, after it showed excellent health and safety measures at two of its sites.

Both the Tilmanstone Salads and Wingland Foods premises were honoured for preventing accidents in the workplace. ADNFCR-2754-ID-801348656-ADNFCR
