South Derbyshire District Council has picked up a gold award from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA).

Judges were impressed with the operations the organisation put in place to maintain high levels of safety, leading to the company being honoured for their commitment to accident prevention, reports Burton Mail.

Frank McArdle, chief executive of the district council, told the news provider: “We are delighted to receive this award, which reflects the hard work of our staff in maintaining high standards across the organisation.

“The council continues to be committed to developing and maintaining systems to protect employees, visitors and members of the public and advocating the principles of sensible health and safety.”

The scheme assesses accident records and people’s overarching health and safety management systems, such as leadership and workforce involvement processes.

Companies that are handed safety awards will benefit from a better reputation in the industry, which could give them an advantage over rivals.ADNFCR-2754-ID-801619613-ADNFCR
