Farmers throughout Shropshire have been offered a new service that aims to help them adhere to health and safety regulations, such as the installation of safety signage.

Building Trust in Safety has launched the Farmers Safety Pack, which is specified to meet the designated requirements of agricultural firms across the county, including relevant policies and documents, according to Shropshire Live.

Ruth Ross, managing director of the firm, said: "More than 450 people in the sector have died in accidents during the past ten years, with a further 1,700 seriously injured.

"Agricultural businesses have to deal with a wide variety of health and safety issues every day."

These comments come after a study from the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health and the Transport Research Laboratory stressed that employers could work harder to decrease work-related road deaths.

The two groups found that numerous firms are spending money on road strategies without checking whether they provide effective results.
