Safety signs 'a key issue' in caravan industry

19th January 2010 | Warning Signs, Health and Safety Signs

People working in the caravan industry must remember the importance of precautions such as safety signs, a sector watchdog has said.

The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) reminded all organisations operating in the tourism sector to remember the importance of safety measures to protect both staff and members of the public.

It warned people in the caravan industry in particular to makes sure sites are safe and people are not put at risk, with health and safety signs one way of reminding employees to follow precautions.

Max Walker, HSE head of operations for the south-west, commented: "Accidents are bad news for individuals, businesses and reputations. No one can afford - either in monetary terms or simple human terms - to treat safety lightly."

Meanwhile, the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health is hosting an event at the Birmingham NEC Arena between May 11th and 13th designed to highlight the importance of using health and safety signs and other workplace precautions.ADNFCR-2754-ID-19564384-ADNFCR
