New warning signs could be adopted in Princes Risborough to warn drivers of how fast they are travelling.

A bid has been forwarded to purchase two portable devices, which can be placed on roads to highlight a vehicle's speed in miles per hour. The Princes Risborough neighbourhood action group hopes that the scheme will be approved next year, reports the Bucks Herald.

Chairman of the group Mandy Dormer told the news provider: "The group purchased its own community speedwatch equipment and the information gathered by its use, along with data strips placed across the major roads in the town, have shown we do have a speeding problem."

Ms Dormer continued by saying that speeding is always highlighted as a concern by residents.

This week, the Newmarket Journal revealed that new warning signs have been erected in Newmarket in an effort to urge motorists to slow down and enable racehorses to pass by them.ADNFCR-2754-ID-800729733-ADNFCR
