Plea for car park warning signs in Llandudno shopping district

Better warning signs are needed across the coastal town of Llandudno in north Wales, to guide shoppers to the nearest car parks.

Local traders are convinced that better signage around the Upper Mostyn Street shopping district will do wonders for their business.

Speaking to North Wales Weekly News, Merrymoon gift shop employee Sue Morris noted that the biggest problem in the Mostyn area is the lack of parking.

She told the newspaper: "There is so much to offer at this end of town with individually owned specialist shops, restaurants, bars and galleries, but we desperately need more parking spaces and better signage to the car parks in Gloddaeth Street because many people don't know they’re there."

Warning signs are also important in busy shopping areas to reduce the risk of accidents and maintain good health and safety.

A recent incident in Newcastle, in which a 68-year-old woman was seriously injured by collapsed scaffolding, highlights the importance of appropriate warning signs.

The pensioner spent 12 days in hospital following the incident and after two years is still unable to carry shopping bags.ADNFCR-2754-ID-800531177-ADNFCR
