Homeowners in Oswaldtwistle have called for warning signs to be introduced at a low railway bridge in the area after a recent collision.
The truck was passing under the 14ft 9 inch bridge in Blackburn Road when the incident occurred, with the impact causing containers to fall onto the road and into the path of a Nissan Micra, reports the Lancashire Telegraph.
Luckily, the 33-year-old driver of the car was said to have had a "miraculous escape", despite seeing her windscreen shattered.
Councillor Marlene Haworth, who represents the St Oswalds Ward, told the news provider: "It is terrible that something like this has happened. We need more signs.
"The driver should have been aware further back along the road that there was a low bridge."
Calls for the signs come after the Scunthorpe Telegraph reported that notices are to be introduced in Winterton to prevent confusion caused by road humps in the area.
