Safety professionals in the Newcastle region are to gather next month in a bid to reduce the number of injuries at local events.
The Tyne and Wear Branch of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) has teamed up with the Institution's Sports Grounds and Events Group to educate people involved in such shows.
Carl Hagemann, vice chair of the Sports Grounds and Events Group, said: "Successful events are always supported beneath the surface by good health and safety. If it is done well the public will not even notice."
Mr Hagemann emphasised that, regardless of the type of event taking place, the public has a right to be safe.
IOSH recently praised a worker from the BBC for their work in the field of occupational health and safety.
Sarah Davidson, health and safety advisor for the organisation, was commended for her efforts relating to laser use in the entertainment industry.
