Mis-spelt signs 'expexted' to be recalled

A number of signs in the Sittingbourne area have had to be changed because they contain spelling errors, it has been revealed.

The warning signs were put up to advise local residents that authorities "expexted delays" because "Sittingbourne Carnaval" is taking place at the weekend, BBC News reports.

Sittingbourne Carnival Association needed to announce road closures a week ahead of the event, and says the company responsible for printing them made the mistakes.

"People will either think we are stupid and we can't spell or they will have a good laugh," said Pam Griggs, chairman of the association.

"At least people are reading them."

It is the latest in a catalogue of setbacks for Sittingbourne Carnival, which begins this Saturday (September 24th).

The celebration was originally supposed to take place in June, but the association was forced to cancel it at the last minute after claiming police gave them too much paperwork to get through, according to Kent Online.ADNFCR-2754-ID-800737696-ADNFCR
