Arla's Llandyrnog Creamery in Denbighshire has been awarded a sword of honour from the British Safety Council (BSC)

It achieved more than 92 per cent in its BSC Five Star health and safety management system audit, before showing an independent adjudication panel that it had implemented a culture of best practice across its operations.

In order to pass, sites had to pick up a minimum score of 60 out of 72, with the creamery achieving 66. The honours recognise excellent performance from organisations and workers in the health and safety and environmental management fields.

Mark Robertson, head of Arla’s cheese sites, said: "This recognition of excellence is testament to the commitment, drive and involvement that has been instilled by putting behavioural safety at the top of the agenda."

Other companies that have received the Sword of Honour include Dounreay Site Restoration Ltd, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, Foster Wheeler Energy Ltd and Unipart Group Consumer Logistics Cowley.ADNFCR-2754-ID-801487638-ADNFCR
