The IOSH (Institution of Occupational Safety and Health) Awards are recognising health and safety successes across the world.

Among the winners at the ceremony were West Midlands Fire Service, which won the best achievement in public services award, while other victors included Uno Buses and AFI Uplift, picking up campaign and innovation of the year respectively.

IOSH chief executive Jan Chmiel said: "It was such an impressive shortlist because it showed the lengths the health and safety profession is going to, across sectors, to cut work-related injuries and ill health. There really was some stiff competition this year so to pick up an award was a tremendous achievement."

The climax of the gala dinner, hosted by broadcaster Jeremy Vine, was the presentation of the IOSH Lifetime Achievement Award, which was awarded to Shelia Pantry OBE and presented by Santia Consulting Limited.

IOSH president Gerard Hand described Ms Pantry as a pioneer in the use of information hubs in health and safety.ADNFCR-2754-ID-801654065-ADNFCR
