Farmer safety in Northern Ireland is to be addressed by the Health and Safety Executive for Northern Ireland (HSENI), which may lead to new safety signage being erected.

The group will focus on farm safety in its Help Initiative across February and March, when its representatives will be visiting farms in an effort to discuss how health and safety can be ensured.

Ken Logan, acting deputy chief executive, speaking directly to farmers, said: "Safety must be your number one priority as it is likely to be you or another family member who gets injured or killed.

"This Help Initiative will provide you with an opportunity to ask questions and seek advice from my colleagues."

Recently, insurer QBE started a new e-learning initiative that aims to provide health and safety training to its clients in a hope to reduce injuries.

Areas covered by the drive are construction, work at height safety, logistics and driver safety.ADNFCR-2754-ID-801275306-ADNFCR
