Health and safety signs 'can prevent agricultural accidents'

16th December 2009 | Health and Safety Signs

One expert has reiterated the importance of using health and safety signs after a campaign to reduce agricultural accidents won a national award.

The Health and Safety Executive's (HSE's) board member and agricultural champion Judith Donovan gave the advice after the organisation's 'Make the promise. Come home safe' initiative scooped a gold prize at the Direct Marketing Awards in London.

Ms Donovan said the campaign, which urges people in the farming industry to use precautions such as health and safety signs, proves that commercial companies can make a real difference when it comes to saving lives.

"It is incredibly special that the direct marketing industry has recognised the Make the Promise agriculture campaign through this prestigious gold award," the expert said.

Meanwhile, Sandy Blair, a member of the HSE, recently said that the current economic climate may be tempting companies to cut corners in many areas, but that should not mean neglecting things such as health and safety signs.ADNFCR-2754-ID-19515199-ADNFCR
