Health and safety actions must be proportional to each scenario

The health and safety actions adopted by businesses must always be proportional to individual situations, one specialist believes.

Jane White, research and information services manager at the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health, pinpointed that summer and spring can bring a number of risks, including the danger of dehydration.

Ms White noted that other dangers are present in the season, explaining "particularly in spring time you will find that the sun is quite low in the sky and that can very much affect vision when driving - it can dazzle or blind you.

"Fog is also often an issue from a visibility point of view."

However, she advised that any reactions must be well-thought through and suggested that it would be unreasonable to install air conditioning units in areas where there is little sunshine.

The importance of health and safety was recently highlighted by Thisisthewestcountry.co.uk., which reported that representatives from Homes in Sedgemoor have been offering safety guidance to pupils in the area.ADNFCR-2754-ID-801335858-ADNFCR
