Goats and horses have been roaming free on a residential road, which has triggered fears over road safety and may cause officials to consider new warning signs.

Homeowners in Handley Street, Packmoor, have urged Stoke-on-Trent City Council to help with the long-term issue of livestock breaking out of pastureland, with up to 30 animals at a time hopping over fencing and entering private gardens, reports The Sentinel.

Councillor Mohammed Pervez, Stoke-on-Trent council leader, said: "The council is actively dealing with a number of livestock-related problems.

"A process for dealing with horses deliberately placed on council land without authority has also been developed."

In Shropshire, farmers have been offered safety advice as part of a new service that aims to assist them in complying with health and safety regulations.

Building Trust in Safety has introduced the Farmers Safety Pack, which is specified to meet the designated needs of agricultural firms in the county.ADNFCR-2754-ID-800733909-ADNFCR
