The Ellenborough Park hotel in Gloucestershire has been denied new road signs.

The Gloucestershire Echo has reported that the premises applied to their local council for brown and white tourism notices to pinpoint its location but, out of the 11 requested, only one has been approved.

Speaking to the newspaper, general manager of the hotel John Hanna said: “Sudeley Castle has got more brown signs than you can shake a stick at and other places, such as a local pub, have at least two.

“Given the economic climate and where we are, if it's a matter of helping people come into the area and spend money, surely a few signs must be a good thing?”

Mr Hanna added that he plans to appeal against Gloucestershire County Council’s decision.

Road signs could be highly useful for businesses in the modern climate, but it is vital that necessary approval is obtained before notices are installed, or bosses could find they are breaching the law.ADNFCR-2754-ID-801597356-ADNFCR
