Gloucester City Council has announced that it will trial health and safety sessions on the Moreland Trading Estate.
Members of the authority's health and safety team will be available on September 11th to discuss a number of health, safety and welfare topics.
A predicted £14 billion is lost every year as a result of injuries and ill-health.
Councillor Colin Organ, cabinet member for housing, health and leisure, Gloucester City Council said: "Businesses should take advantage of this drop-in session for both generic and specific advice regarding health and safety at work.
"We hope the session will prove successful and we will be able to roll something similar out to other trading estates in the city."
Peter O'Connell, policy manager at the Federation of Master Builders, recently commented on health and safety, noting that it is the number one priority for the construction industry.
Mr O'Connell also explained that the industry has been helpful when it comes to engaging with the Health and Safety Executive.
