Fire safety signs could help to warn the public about the danger of grass fires.

According to the East Anglia Daily Times, there have been a series of grass and undergrowth fires across Suffolk in the past few days, prompting fire crews to respond.

Now fire service officials are issuing safety advice in a bid to alert the public.

The area manager for Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service, Eddie Meelan, said: "We would urge people to take care and follow our safety tips when theyÂ’re out and about, especially now that weÂ’re into the school summer holiday season.
"If everyone thinks a bit about the risk of fire, then hopefully we can prevent some of these incidents from happening."

The news provider said basic advice, like ensuring glass bottles aren't left in wooded and grassy areas, not throwing cigarette butts out of windows, not having open fires in the countryside and using barbecues properly could all prevent fire.

Another measure that could be taken is to erect fire safety signs in dangerous areas to alert members of the public of the risk of fire.ADNFCR-2754-ID-800007138-ADNFCR
