Epping District Council’s car parks have been recognised with a new safety award.

Following an inspection by the British Parking Association, members of the authority were presented with the safer parking award, which is handed to car parks that are properly managed and maintained, according to the Epping Forest Guardian.

Mary Sartin, chairman of the council, told the news provider: “I was delighted to accept this award on behalf of the council. Drivers in the district will be able to use our car parks knowing that we have taken measures to make them as safe as we can.”

At the moment, there are 20 council-owned car parks, with eight offering short-stay services, three offering long-stays and six providing a combination of the two.

Councillor Gary Waller, transport portfolio holder, also commented on the accolades, noting that he was delighted to accept the award on behalf of the council. ADNFCR-2754-ID-801622007-ADNFCR
