Drivers are putting themselves in danger by ignoring warning signs in Milnsbridge.

Several motorists are attempting to drive the wrong way down one-way streets, ignoring roads closed signs in the process to avoid bridge repairs in the area, reports the Huddersfield Examiner.

It is vital to be aware of warning signs and potential diversions, or Britons could be putting themselves at risk of injury.

The issue is an increasing worry for traders, who have witnessed many people disregard the notices and want urgent action to be taken in order to stop potential tragedies.

The repair work began last week and will continue for 14 more, meaning that motorists face a diversion of several miles, which takes them via Paddock and Longroyd Bridge.

Warning signs have also been introduced in Devon in a bid to reduce motorcycle accidents.

The notices that read "think bike" and "biker in your blindspot?" have been installed on several roads, including the A382 Newton Abbot to Whiddon Down.ADNFCR-2754-ID-801432913-ADNFCR
