"Better" safety signs will be erected at a US town in preparation for the country's mid-term elections this November.

According to seacoastonline.com, officials in the town of Exeter are planning improved directional signage to help organise effective parking for the electoral process.

The exact location of the town's election site has yet to be decided, but it is believed that two spots are being considered, the Talbot Gymnasium on Linden Street or the Town Hall.

Town organiser Don Clement told the news provider that the handling of warning signs would be improved this time around.

"We just need more direction and signage, and a better handling of that," he said.

Whichever place is decided to host the elections will become the long-term site in future so that consistency for voters is maintained.

America's mid-term elections take place on November 2nd. They are so-called because they arise halfway through the four-year presidential term.
