Deeside College has collected a gold standard award from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA), which may highlight the importance of efficient safety signage to businesses.

It is the highest standard that can be awarded by RoSPA and honours the devotion of staff and students in maintaining exceptional levels of occupational health and safety.

Speaking to the Flintshire Chronicle, Deeside College's health, safety and sustainability officer Niki Shuttleworth, said: "We are delighted to receive this award in recognition of the efforts put into health and safety by college staff and students."

David Rawlins, RoSPA's awards manager, also commented on the college's achievement, saying that it has strived for "continuous improvement".

The Liverpool Daily Post has reported that another company which has been recognised with a gold award from RoSPA is Redrow Homes.

It collected the award as a result of its continuously positive attitude to health and safety. ADNFCR-2754-ID-800608667-ADNFCR
