A teenager from Cornwall has called for improvements to be made to an accident black spot.

Speaking to the Cornish Guardian, Dannie Phillips said that she was left unconscious and trapped in her car after it was wrecked at the side of the road.

The 19-year-old's car landed in over three feet of water, and she was only rescued after being noticed by passing drivers.

"I woke up after the car landed. The water was rushing in through the window and I couldn't keep my head above it. I remember thinking, 'This is it now; if I panic I'm just going to use up more oxygen', and I blacked out again," Ms Phillips went on to say.

It is important for drivers to raise awareness of any areas which they believe could pose a danger to other road users, especially during the winter season, as ice and snow are likely to make hazardous roads even more treacherous.ADNFCR-2754-ID-801541193-ADNFCR
