Construction signs to be used at Bowden View Bridge

19th November 2009 | Construction Signs, Warning Signs

An upcoming project in Lancashire will see hundreds of construction signs used after a contract was finally awarded. The Highways Agency today announced that a £3.2 million contract for the new M56 Bowdon View Bridge has been given to Carillion Construction. Work will begin next spring and warning signs will be put up to inform motorists about what is happening and which diversions they can take. David Grunwell, regional director for the Highways Agency in the north-west, said that previous investigations revealed the bridge deck has to be replaced. "Building and installing the new bridge deck in this way will ensure minimum disruption to traffic. To help road users plan their journeys we will keep them informed of when we plan to demolish and replace," he explained. Meanwhile, construction and warning signs will be used while vital work takes place on the M25 in the coming weeks as part of a project to widen the motorway.
