The Association for Organics Recycling (AfOR) has published a health and safety guide that is aimed at composting site managers.

It was unveiled at the organisation's third annual Health and Safety in Waste Management conference, where a number of speakers discussed the risks present in the organics recycling industry, reports LetsRecycle.com.

Jeremy Jacobs, managing director of AfOR, told the news provider: "I am delighted in announcing the release of the 3rd edition of AfOR’s guidance, titled Health and Safety at Composting sites."

Mr Jacobs continued by saying that, due to the alarming rate of fatalities in recent months, the guide raises the number of issues facing site operators and looks at how they can be tackled.

It is vital that companies introduce a health and safety policy that caters for the needs of their individual business, taking into account the potential risks that come with using equipment.

Without such measures, companies can put their workers in danger of being harmed.   ADNFCR-2754-ID-801459326-ADNFCR
