Improved health and safety signage will be part of the development of the exciting new Dungeon attraction at Blackpool Tower.

According to the Gazette, Merlin, the firm in charge of the project, said in a planning proposal that it will transform three floors of the famous tower into a stunning new visitor experience.

The current entrance to the site's lifts, labelled as "drab", will be boosted by the installation of a 4-D cinema, and the Dungeon itself will have its own special branded entrance.

The newspaper said that the plans placed an emphasis on improved safety signs, noting that "the plans show ticket booths installed with clearer signage to each ride or show".

Building work on the Dungeon is expected to begin in November.

Constructed in 1894, Blackpool's famous grade one listed Tower was built in celebration of the Eiffel Tower in Paris and stands at 518 ft 9 ins.
