Pupils at Viking Primary School have designed new safety signage to notify drivers of the 30mph speed limit in Yeading Lane, Northolt.

The road is the final one in Ealing to have its speed limit decreased as part of a new borough-wide 30mph limit, which hopes to make the roads safer, according to the Ealing Times.

Councillor Bassam Mahfouz, cabinet member for transport and environment, told the newspaper: "It’s always tragic when someone is seriously injured on our roads, but what’s worse is that so often accidents are preventable."

Pupils from the School joined Mr Mahfouz to erect the first of the signs at the Radcliffe Way junction.

Recently, the Exmouth Journal reported that police in Exmouth have educated pupils at Littleham Primary School on the importance of road safety.

Youngsters at the school partnered with the police to stop speeding motorists and designed new safety signs.ADNFCR-2754-ID-801273440-ADNFCR
