British Safety Council launches new safety review

7th December 2011 | Health and Safety Signs

A new health and safety systems review has been introduced by the British Safety Council.

The scheme will assess measures such as safety signage in an effort to lower the probability of accidents for companies in the retail and manufacturing industries, before later being expanded to cover construction and healthcare businesses, reports Process and Control Today.

David Parr, the British Safety Council's head of product development and delivery, told the news provider: "The review is a quick and easy way for organisations to independently check that individual sites – such as depots, stores and offices – are meeting the health and safety standards set down by central management."

Mr Parr remarked that the safety review can be applied to single sites or several locations, facilitating benchmarking across a group.

It comes after the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) warned that firms should be more capable when it comes to enforcing health and safety standards.ADNFCR-2754-ID-801231896-ADNFCR
