Devon County Council has received the Prince Michael of Kent International Road Safety Award for its latest campaign, highlighting the recognition that firms may gain if they adopt effective safety signage.

The prize was handed over to the authority at a ceremony in London, recognising its exceptional efforts in improving road safety. RoadSafe organised and managed the event.

Councillor Stuart Hughes, Devon County Council cabinet member for Highways and Transportation, said: "It's an absolute honour to receive this award on behalf of all of the partners involved in this project, and the success of this scheme demonstrates how effective our combined efforts can be."

Mr Hughes went on to say that the campaign achieved its aim of making rural roads safer.
