Update 24th March: We are still open to produce much needed Virus Protection signs

Last night the government asked non-essential businesses to shut.  We are taking this seriously,  but many of our customers are calling on us to provide virus protection signs to support the Government’s new measures.

To try and strike a balance we have sent all possible staff home, leaving a core team working in our factory to manufacture and supply these and other critical safety signs.

These virus protection signs include:

Temporary Signs to support site closures for councils and managers of large outdoor spaces.

Self-Isolation Signs:  To support those who need to avoid contact, including a range of free downloadable signs.

Social Distancing signs:  For critical businesses that need to remain open, but encourage or enforce safe social distancing.

Protection measures for staff and patients in NHS hospitals and surgeries: quarantine areas, biohazard risks, PPE rules, hand wash instructions and sanitiser station signs.

Even operating under current restrictions, we manufacture thousands of signs, on demand, every day and can produce these, or your custom design in high volume at short notice.

If you need virus protection signs and cannot find what you need in our normal range then please contact us on 01476 957980 so that we can help.

Update Thursday 19th of March - We are still taking and dispatching orders.

We are still taking orders and dispatching same-day.

We manufacture almost all of our products on demand so we continue to be able to supply in any quantities that you need and we can dispatch the same day on orders received before 4:30pm.

We have split the business into two teams and moved half to remote working.  This protects our teams and makes us more robust. It means we should always have cover available if needed.

We are rapidly developing products to meet the new challenges our customers are facing.  If you need something you can't find on the site, please get in touch and we will task a team member to develop this product for you.

If you are looking for signs to help fight or manage the spread of infection please see our current range here.

Tools that we are using that might be of help.

We already have a number of team members working remotely and have compiled a list of tools that we have found really helpful for remote working that you might find useful too.

Google Drive

Allows for documents to be shared and edited online. It also includes a full version history that allows you to roll back to an earlier version.  Team members can collaborate in real time and make comments or edits on a shared document.

We use this tool for project and task management. Typically setting it up with three lists, “Next Up”, “Doing” and “Done”. We use this tool to manage all our software and product development projects.  We have also moved our daily All Hands meeting onto this tool to allow our team to contribute remotely or to attend the meeting from their desk to improve social distancing.

Skype / Google Hangouts

We use these tools for conducting remote meetings.  Skype is useful for chats during the day and Hangouts better for planned meetings.  We use a combination of Hangouts and Trello for our daily All Hands meetings.

We use this as a whiteboarding tool for mapping out processes or brainstorming ideas.  Two things which become essential when working remotely.

Skills Matrix

This isn’t a software tool but a shared spreadsheet we have created in Google Drive.  It maps out all of the essential skills we need to keep the business running and who is trained in these areas. We used this tool to help us decide who to ask to work remotely and who to stay in the office.  It means that we have a lot of home based workers who are capable of running the factory should we need them to.

If you have any suggestions for tools or approaches that are working for you then please let us know.
