Summary: Could the Isle of Man be set to create a separate body for health and safety?

The Isle of Man's public consultation to decide if the island will establish a separate body to enforce health and safety laws will finish next week (May 13th).

This could have an effect on where safety signs are placed in workplaces throughout the region. At the moment, the Department of Infrastructure's Health and Safety at Work Inspectorate monitors workplace laws, reports IsleOfMan.com.

Infrastructure minister Phil Gawne told the website: "The proposals concerning a Health and Safety Authority for the Isle of Man are significant and I would encourage any individuals or organisations who have an interest in health and safety and who have not yet submitted their views to do so before Friday, May 13th."
