Weston College has collected the Sword of Honour award from health, safety and environmental charity the British Safety Council (BSC).

The five-star accolade was handed out for the high standards of health and safety introduced at its Knightstone Campus following a five-day inspection, reports the Weston Mercury.

It is just one of 79 organisations in the world to collect the honour, which will be presented at the Mansion House in London on November 23rd by the BSC.

Speaking to the news provider, Weston College environmental services officer Rory O’Connor said: "It was a very thorough inspection and out of 72 points we scored 69. The pass mark was 60."

Hertel is another company that was recently commended for its safety policies, as it picked up the president's award from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA).

The honour was given out after the many of the firm's measures were assessed, including risk-control policies and risk assessments.ADNFCR-2754-ID-801483581-ADNFCR
