Wessex Water awarded health and safety award

Wessex Water has been handed a health and safety award from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA).
The awards honour commitment to the prevention of accidents and ill-health and are open to all businesses and organisations throughout Britain, with the scheme looking at accident records and health and safety management systems.
Stephen Penn, WECS compliance manager, said: “Each year the bar is raised by RoSPA and this demonstrates that our systems and commitment are worthy of a prestigious award from an internationally famous organisation.”
Mr Penn added that the company is “very pleased” to receive the gold award for 2013.
Each member of the WECS team and its key contractors have played a “key role” in the award, he noted.
This news comes after Konecranes collected a RoSPA silver medal, with the firm being honoured in the firm’s achievement category. It also picked up a gold medal in 2011/2012.
