Street signs vandalised in Wells

Street signs on Walnut Tree Close in Wells have been vandalised with black paint.

Local residents reported the crime, which is causing emergency services, delivery people and other road users to miss the turn in to the street, reports the Wells Journal.

Authorities have been contacted regarding the problem, with plans being made to replace the signage.

One resident told the news provider: "It's going to cost hundreds of pounds and may take several months to replace the signs, and it's not fair that people can't get to our residency because of it. It's just such a stupid, mindless thing to do."

He added that road users are already becoming lost in the area.

Elsewhere, Peterborough Today has reported that vandals have sprayed graffiti across signs in Whittlesey.

A notice at Crescent Close has been sprayed, while the road and bollards at Coronation Avenue were also painted by the individuals.ADNFCR-2754-ID-801431979-ADNFCR
