Solaglass honoured with health and safety awards

Workers at Rotherham's Solaglass Installation have been commended in the recent GLASS Charter Awards, signalling the plaudits that may be handed to companies with effective safety signage.
At the presentation ceremony, health, safety and environment manager Jon Cornforth was given the health and safety professional of the year accolade, while the firm's operations director, Tim Barnes, was recognised in the health and safety director of the year field, reports the Star.
Speaking to the newspaper, Mr Barnes praised Mr Cornforth, saying: "He has secured support from the whole of the management team which has enabled the communication and dissemination of information in a simple and meaningful way."
He commented that Mr Cornforth has worked with infectious enthusiasm.
In recent weeks, Keepmoat Homes collected a gold accolade at the RoSPA Occupational Health and Safety Awards, marking the third time it has won the honour.
It was previously handed the award in 2008 and 2010.
