Safety signs fitted at Foul Lane recycling site

6th June 2012 | Warning Signs

Posted by Ben Alexander

Warning signs have been installed at a recycling site in Foul Lane, after people were concerned that they were putting themselves in danger.

In addition to the signs, steps up to the container openings will be introduced in a bid to prevent people from lifting heavy bags over their heads and shoulders, according to the Southport Visitor.

Speaking to the news provider, Norwood ward's councillor Marianne Welsh said: "With my safety signs and with users now knowing that assistance is always at hand, the residents should find using the site a far better experience."

Ms Welsh explained that she is extremely pleased that the renovations to the site have been achieved.

News of the Foul Lane signs follows the South Yorkshire Safer Roads Partnership's announcement that a selection of signs has been fitted on the county's roads.

The move has been made in a bid to lower the number of motorcyclists who are injured on the region's roads.ADNFCR-2754-ID-801378233-ADNFCR
