A specialist has revealed his concerns over potential electrical dangers at the London Fields Lido pool, which may lead other pool operators to evaluate their safety signage.

Hazards at the pool are being overlooked by its operators, as an explosion from a water jet cable was seen last month, according to a chartered health and safety expert, who was speaking to the Hackney Citizen.

Garry Saunders told the news provider: "The jet was three feet from the edge of the pool and the cable run was about 25 metres.

"If someone walking past had accidentally knocked it into the water, it could have been fatal to the 20 or 30 swimmers."

Health and Safety has also been highlighted by Asda in recent weeks, with the supermarket introducing a new manual entitled The Asda Way of Working.

In addition, the store has formed a retail health and safety forum with other chains in an effort to discuss safe working practices.ADNFCR-2754-ID-800622975-ADNFCR
