Roadwork signs leave Derby drivers confused

Road signs have left drivers confused in Derby, with the notices causing motorists to travel on the wrong side of the road.

The issue is proving to be a problem on Duffield Road, with Graham Browett, a pub owner on the street, telling the Derby Telegraph that the issues are leading to "absolute chaos".

"Safety is my main concern. I've seen cars going the wrong way up the dual carriageway. The main problem has been the signage. It's left so many people confused," Mr Browett explained.

He added that he does not know how a major accident has not occurred yet, as the probability of a head-on collision is "quite high".

These comments come after safety signs were introduced in Devon to lower the likelihood of motorcycle accidents.

The signs read "think bike" and "biker in your blindspot?" and have been installed on roadsides including the A382 Newton Abbot to Whiddon Down and the A380 from Penn Inn to Kerswell Gardens.ADNFCR-2754-ID-801433857-ADNFCR
