Warning signs have been introduced in an effort to make Shoreham Beach a safer place for locals.

West Sussex County Council (WSCC) has agreed to boost signage in the area after more than 800 people signed a petition following several accidents on an S-bend near a local primary school, reports the Shoreham Herald.

Speaking to the news provider, A WSCC spokesman said: "A community meeting took place on Monday night to discuss the possibility of installing new road signage and reflectors near Emerald Quay, though no decision has taken place yet."

The representative explained that the authority is working very closely with traffic engineers in the region.

In recent weeks, residents in Lancashire urged their local council to put up more road signs in Colne in order to boost safety.

Pendle Council is set to a hold a meeting with the authority to discuss the issue.ADNFCR-2754-ID-801463103-ADNFCR
