Parents caught speeding outside the Bussage, Chalford Hill and Christchurch primary schools have caused pupils to design safety signs for the area.

It is hoped the move will reduce the level of danger for youngsters near the schools, with the Stroud News and Journal reporting that police checks have shown that numerous speeding vehicles were driven by parents.

Speaking to the news provider, PC Emma Beard said: "Firstly I would like to congratulate the students on their winning designs, they look fantastic and help get the message of road safety out to the public.

"Responsible driving is important everywhere but especially around schools."

Ms Beard went on to say that the new signs will "help spread the message to all".

Road safety is of great importance around schools, as the high volumes of children around nearby roads mean that speeding could prove fatal.ADNFCR-2754-ID-801555650-ADNFCR
