No smoking signs launched at Cleethorpes play area

No smoking signs have been installed at an outdoor play area in Cleethorpes after parents stated concerns over taking their children to the facility.

Mothers and fathers were worried about the number of people who smoked around the pool and sandpit areas, and now warning signs have been erected to make the area more enjoyable for families, reports the BBC.

North East Lincolnshire councillor Mick Burnett, deputy leader and portfolio holder for health, wellbeing, tourism and leisure, told the news provider: "We've listened to them and acted on their concerns.

"Adults should be setting a good example and children should not be subjected to second-hand smoke."

Mr Burnett also explained that the introduction of the new signs demonstrates that the health of children has been prioritised.

In recent weeks, Get Wokingham reported that warning signs may be erected in Wokingham country park after a rise in the number of attacks among dogs was found.ADNFCR-2754-ID-800620024-ADNFCR
