A road sign in Midhurst, Sussex, could be restored following concessions from the Highways Agency.

No road signs have been in the eight-mile stretch of the A3 in the area since July 2011, but the Highways Agency has said a sign could be installed if it is funded by the town council, reports the BBC.

John Quilter, vice chairman of Midhurst Town Council, told the news provider: “It will involve us going to a third party scheme, which means if we can get together a proposal for additional signage and find funding for it, the Highways Agency will work with us to get that put in place.”

Mr Quilter added that the council has held a meeting with representatives from the agency.

If signage is found to be in a bad condition and delivers unclear messages, road users should immediately contact their local council in order for amendments to be made.ADNFCR-2754-ID-801589602-ADNFCR
