Drivers in Lincolnshire will see new bespoke warning signs on the county's roads in a bid to warn bikers of the hazards of crash "hotspots".

The signage has been introduced by the county's Road Safety Partnership, which is part of Operation Octane, a campaign launched alongside the police to target bikers who put themselves in danger by showing off, reports the BBC.

John Siddle, a spokesman for the Partnership, said: "Everybody says it's not going to happen to them - what we are saying is there is a strong possibility - it certainly happened to 10 people last year and those 10 people became the next numbers."

Police in the area have also highlighted that bikers are more likely to be injured than car or van users.

New safety measures have also been planned for Coventry, with the Coventry Telegraph reporting that flashing signs are being considered in the area.ADNFCR-2754-ID-801332480-ADNFCR
