Kirkdale fire fighters underline road safety importance

Kirkdale fire fighters have invited a number of mechanic students to the local fire station in order to provide a lesson in health and safety.

The Liverpool Echo has reported that a group of 12 students participated in the workshop, which aims to educate them on the common causes of car crashes for young motorists.

Those who attended were also taught about the dangers of alcohol, drugs, speeding and use of mobile phones while on the roads.

Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service crew manager Jez Williamson told the news provider: “This was a great opportunity to engage with young people. As they are future mechanics, they already had an interest in vehicles and driving. They really seemed to take on board the road safety messages.

“This was also a pilot for future partnership workshops that we hope to provide in the future with Basetech Training.”

It is vital that motorists maintain their concentration while on the roads, or they will put themselves and others in danger.ADNFCR-2754-ID-801591380-ADNFCR
