The Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) has named Simon Bowen as its new executive director of membership.

Mr Bowen is moving from the British Psychological Society in Leicester to take up the role, and follows on from Hazel Harvey, who retired last week following almost 20 years on the group's senior management team.

"I was attracted initially because the role profile fitted my experience well, in particular the international dimension, as I’d gained a lot of international experience at the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS)," Mr Bowen stated.

He went on to say that safeguarding people's health and safety in the workplace is "an exciting challenge", adding that he is looking forward to improving IOSH's membership services.

Earlier this month, IOSH held an event in Dundrum to raise awareness of health and safety issues in the agriculture industry.

The event gave health and safety professionals the chance to share good practice techniques.ADNFCR-2754-ID-801559347-ADNFCR
